During her time with the Filicchis, Elizabeth was deeply moved by their Catholic faith, the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and the beauty of Catholic worship. After much prayer and study, she converted to Catholicism in 1805, a decision that brought her immense joy but also social ostracism.

Living a Life of Quiet Miracles

Her courage in founding the Sisters of Charity in 1809 created a legacy of service and education that continues to flourish.
